I was able to get to look for some more Fall color this past week before some forecasted rain hits western Iowa, Siouxland. It’s been so dry this year that any rain is welcomed, but will certainly change the look of the landscape. While driving around, there are times when I am shooting in the country that local farmers, or farmers’ wives will come out and ask what the heck am I doing. And generally the discussion leads to a nice visit. How the fall crops did this year, poorly in most places, whether there will be any moisture this winter, like snow. Personally, since I like to snow shoe, I hope it snows a bunch, but also hope the temperature stays in the 20’s and 30’s so the snow also melts and snows again. Rather than dropping into the 5 degrees and minus degrees, in which case all snow stays until summer when it can finally melt. So this is another look at Fall in Siouxland, and hoping it lasts a bit longer. More Fall photos and a place for reprints if the urge dictates.
