Murals Rock Rapids
15 Jun
Twenty six murals currently dot the landscape of Rock Rapids, Iowa, June 6, 2013, and more are expected. Rock Rapids Mural Society member Norma Jansma explains the mural project began in 2002 as a way of telling the history of the small town. (photo by Jerry Mennenga ©)

“The Rock River and Island Park have long been known as a place to enjoy the great outdoors. Years ago you could find area families enjoying the swinging bridge, perhaps swimming in the river, sliding down the big slides, fishing with friends, or casual walk through the park as shown in the three scenes of the mural. It’s nice to know that some of life’s simple pleasures still exist today. Spend time with family and friends at Island Park in Rock Rapids.”
