Orange City tulip festival
30 Apr
The Orange City, Iowa, tulip festival celebrates Dutch heritage, with a parade, and town residents participate by dressing in Dutch costumes, Friday, May 20, 2011. Part of the tradition of welcoming (velkomen) visitors is the cleaning of the streets by the menfolk. This often leaves many of the younger participants as wet as the streets.
