Orange City tulip festival

30 Apr

The Orange City, Iowa, tulip festival celebrates Dutch heritage, with a parade, and town residents participate by dressing in Dutch costumes, Friday, May 20, 2011. The residents also wear their wooden shoes, by tradition, these were worn in Holland since the water didn’t rot the wooden shoes like it did leather ones. (Photo by Jerry Mennenga©)
