Siouxland winter slowly approaching

18 Dec

Wintertime in Siouxland is a time of year that affords a different look at the landscape. Mostly unseen because it is covered by snow. I enjoy winter, but not when the temps are headed south of freezing, hovering in the teens or lower. And when the Prairie Wind kicks in, the biting cold can be intense. So some days I find it tough to get up early and head out. But I did recently to meet a friend for breakfast and help her with some fundamentals of a new camera. On my way to a coffee shop, I saw some horses enjoying their own breakfast in a frost covered field. Braver than I in getting out and enjoying the morning and cool, maybe cold, crisp air. And at least finding something to munch on before it is buried under snow.
