Sunshine in Siouxland deceiving, Paulina

28 Feb

Another day, a little warmth, supposedly, as spring inches nearer in Siouxland. In watching the news I see other parts of the country, east and south, getting hammered with ice and snow and cold. Mmmmmmm. Should I feel sorry for them, no. Just because those areas of the country don’t get a taste of the winter from the midwest often, I can’t help that. When the temps start heading north of 30, I like to get out and drive, looking for something to photograph and take the mind off of other stuff. But when you step out of the car to photograph something and that cold, cold wind pierces your clothing, it’s simply reminding you that winter is not done yet.

I saw a barn at at a seed center on the outskirts of Paulina, Iowa, and stopped to shoot a photo. Just liked the shadow on the barn. Bright blue sky, crisp light, and the shadow gives one a false sense of warmth. Not so. But it still makes for a nice image.

Thank you so much for the like and compliment. The blog gives me impetus to get out and learn more about my area and meet some really nice people and see life. Just waiting like others for a little warmer weather to enjoy it all.
