A little color in Siouxland, Ute

15 Jan

While out and about driving through Siouxland in the last few weeks when temperatures were above zero, I cam across the small community of Ute, Iowa. It is one of many small communities in the state. And the downtown area is much like a lot of these communities. It appears the glory days are past but the community continues and it is home to people who enjoy living there.

I was struck however by the color I saw in the downtown area. A couple of places just “popped” as I walked about. I tell students in some of the classes I teach to look for such things when out photographing. And use the color to create an image. On a cold day, it was nice to think about the sunshine and warm feeling such bright colors could instill, and the thought that spring and then summer are both on their way here.
