Another community to see in Siouxland, Charter Oak

27 Jan

Another community I visited not too long ago on my way to someplace else, Charter Oak, Iowa, was a nice look at another small community. Living in a place like Iowa to begin with, which has so many smaller communities that helped fuel the growth of the state to begin with and sustained the the early farming communities even though today they are a bit diminished, I find to be a blessing. Photographically speaking there are generally older buildings there built in the late 1800’s and the style and architecture is just fun to witness. Juxtaposed with the older buildings are sometimes newer ones that do not always have the same panache as those built a couple centuries ago.

Shape and form are always nice photograph, texture as well. Plus just getting out and seeing those places that in their own way helped create the state in which I currently live is always fascinating.
