Winter’s Light in Siouxland, Smithland

26 Dec

I like the light during the winter months here in Siouxland. Although I am certain the light is similar everywhere. Though I can’t say the same for the cold. But the light is hard, clear and direct and gives a nice quality and clarity to the subjects it illuminates. I came across an older stone bridge late one recent afternoon in Smithland, and then a barn outside the small community. The sun was headed toward the horizon and casts its glow and charm across the countryside.
