1st Day Hike at Stone State Park

Area residents who came out for a 1st Day Hike at Stone State Park in Sioux City, Iowa Sunday, Jan. 1, 2017, hear a little history about the park and various areas inside it from Iowa Ranger Kevin Pape. The area in which the people are standing was formerly part of a zoo created by Sioux City in the early 1900’s. A concerted effort by parks nationwide to get people out into nature in their area and introduce them to local parks and what is available. (photo by Jerry L Mennenga©)
