Preparations for Winter in Siouxland, Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve, North Sioux City, SD

It’s inevitable even in Siouxland that winter will be arriving, hopefully in a couple months from now rather than a few weeks. But that doesn’t stop preparations for in getting ready. Having food stashed and available is important. Even for woodland creatures. When I saw this little guy I stopped moving hoping he would make his way to wherever he was headed. But as in all situations when one encounters “oncoming traffic”, it’s best to slow down and proceed cautiously so there won’t be any issues.
