O’Connor House
9 Nov
This stairwell and other woodwork in the house is done out of walnut from trees harvested on the land behind the home. Cornelius O’Connor was a trained carpenter and probably did a lot of the work seen in the home. Area residents visit the O’Connor House outside of Homer, Nebraska, Saturday, Nov. 7, 2014, during its annual holiday opening. The residence, completed in 1875 was restored and is run by the Dakota County, Nebraska, Historical Society. (Photo by Jerry L Mennenga©)
